Longest Day of Play Communication Tools Available

Dear OSPAPPH Members,
Here is a message from ParticipACTION for those interested in taking part in the Longest Day of Play:

The Longest Day of Play is coming! We want to get all Canadians to take advantage of the extra daylight hours on the longest day of the year, let loose, and play.  Your organization can help encourage Canadians to get active, have fun and play until the streetlights come on, on June 21st.

To help you communicate, we have prepared a number of tools that your organization can use to help spread the word and get Canadians out to play on The Longest Day of Play.
Communication Tools
Take advantage of the following communication tools to rally Canadians and call everyone out to play on June 21st:
·   Promotional Video
Link to this video on social media, through an e-blast, or run it on your website
·   Poster
Print the poster and put it up or post it on Facebook to share it with your followers
·   LDP Idea Sheets
Looking for ideas on how to get active and play? We’ve got tip sheets for families, community organizations and schools on how to celebrate the Longest Day of Play
·   Wordmark
Use the Longest Day of Play logo on your own materials to promote the day
·   Pre-formatted E-blast
Use this content to communicate to your network or use it on your website
·   Facebook Contest
Link to the Facebook Contest on ParticipACTION’s Facebook page to get people to share how they will be playing on the Longest Day of Play for a chance to win a daily Winners gift card

All tools can be found on the ParticipACTION Toolkit at http://www.participaction.com/resources-partners/toolkit/    or on the Longest Day of Play page on ParticipACTION.com

How Are You Celebrating?
We want to hear from you. If your organization, community, or school is planning an activity to encourage more play on June 21st, please post it on our event listings page at http://www.participaction.com/programs-events/events/ or email Vanessa Smit at vsmit@participaction.com and we’ll share a link on our Longest Day of Play Partners page.

If on June 21st we can get Canadians to skip the night on the couch and get skipping instead, the first national Longest Day of Play will have been a success!

Questions? Email Vanessa Smit at vsmit@participaction.com

Happy Tuesday!
