On behalf of its members, the OSPAPPH Executive advocates and responds to emerging issues to ensure appropriate physical activity representation from a public health perspective.

2024

  • OSPAPPH submitted a letter to the Ministry of Health in June regarding the draft revision of the Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS), emphasizing the critical role of physical activity in chronic disease prevention.
  • We suggested including strategies to develop personal skills and promote healthy behaviors alongside creating supportive environments to effectively prevent chronic disease and enhance overall well-being. OSPAPPH called for integrating these aspects into the Comprehensive Health Promotion Protocol to achieve optimal and equitable health outcomes across Ontario.
